How I work

Before the Session

When you book your session send me your spotlight link, website or a copy of your showreel so I can get a feel for your casting range. That way before you arrive, I’ll have a good idea of how to tailor our session to suit your needs.

Depending on your headshot package your will receive an email from me the day you book with a list of recommended things to bring to your shoot.

A non-refundable session/ booking fee of £50 is required at the time of booking to secure your date and time.

Indoor Session

When you arrive at my studio, we will have a little chat over a drink where I will ask you questions about what you need, what the headshots will be used for and where so we can start to get to know each other. The session will be relaxed and informal. I know some actors struggle having their pictures taken and I aim to make it as painless and as light as possible. I’ll give you guidance throughout the session and I aim to take around 400+ pictures.

As I take the photos, we will be able to view them instantly as I shoot connected to my laptop. We can discuss them and get your feedback to make sure you’re happy. Depending on your headshot package, the duration of the shoot will vary as will the number of backdrops and clothes changes.

Outdoor Session

For outdoor sessions we will meet at a prearranged coffeeshop where we will have a quick conversation to get comfortable and go over what you want, and need from the shoot before going to a location I’ve picked for your session. During the session we will use natural light if possible, but i will also have my lighting kit with me to make sure we get the best possible pictures from your shoot.

After the session

After the shoot we will go through all the images together and I will pick out what I think are some of the strongest shots. The same day you will receive an online private gallery of all of your headshots so you can go through them at home and pick out the ones your want retouching. I will then retouch your chosen images, editing out the blemishes and adjust them to make them look their best. I will then send you the high-resolution version in colour and black and white a few days later.
